For the supplying company, the objective was to automate resource metering to gain easy and convenient access to meter readings. The main problem was that controllers often found that customers were not at home and had to visit the same properties several times. This obstacle prevented the company from promptly issuing accurate bills.
In addition, the company was looking into the possibility of taking readings remotely at any convenient time in order to generate accurate bills and being able to change the tariff for all customers at the same time. This was not feasible with the manual collection of meter readings.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the specialists of the integrator company, together with Jooby’s team, provided remote metering devices for 12,000 Moldovagaz JSC service receivers, living in multi-storey buildings in cities such as Orhei, Rezina, Soldanesti, Telenesti, Stefan Voda, Comrat and Causeni. Jooby RM GM-E radio modules were installed and configured to automatically transmit readings. As part of the project, LoRaWAN base stations were installed to transmit data to the server.
With the introduction of remote metering, the company was successful in reducing the workload of employees: previously, each controller had served up to 900 customers, collecting gas meter readings and delivering bills to them. The automated collection of meter readings made it possible to remotely access readings at any time, and now Moldovagaz can:
12,000 Jooby RM GM-E radio modules have been installed in multi-storey residential buildings in various cities throughout Moldova. Base stations for data transmission have been installed and a system for wireless transmission of readings has been configured.
Customers of the supplying company are provided with a convenient automatic system for taking and transmitting meter readings.
The supplying company can remotely access data on the consumption of gas by service receivers.
The supplying company has accelerated the balance sheet reconciliation process and reduced the workload of controllers.
