Outdated sodium lamps poorly lit up the car park and often failed. We needed to improve lighting and reduce power consumption while reducing the luminaire brightness where possible.
The ART MALL Shopping and Entertainment Center received a smart outdoor lighting system with remote control, diagnostics, and automatic dimming. It took us twenty-one days to complete the project. We replaced the old HPS lamp lumiaires with sixty-four new Jooby Avenue luminaries. Now lighting for the 1300-lot car park consumes 31.4 kW/h per day, which is 82% less than before. The network of IoT Ukraine, a LoRaWAN® operator, is used to control the luminaries.
The car park area is divided into two zones: the first zone is adjacent to the shopping center entrance and needs bright lighting only until the shopping center closes. In this area, the luminaries operate with constant brightness and turn off at 11:00 pm. The second zone is distant, with much fewer cars: the minimum brightness goes up when the motion sensor is triggered.
Outdated HPS lamps replaced
When the SEC closes, the luminaire brightness is reduced to the minimum
The remote car park areas are lit only when motion is detected
Power consumption decreased by 82%
Jooby Avenue’s smart luminaires light streets, parks, roads, bridges, and thermal power plants in Ukraine, Switzerland, and Denmark. Radio modules for utility meters and the Jooby RDC Dashboard solution enable automation of water, gas, heat, and electricity consumption tracking with minimal infrastructure investments.
