ABOUT THE DEVICE

The radio module for Elster gas meter automatically collects meter readings and transmits them to the reporting system over a LoRaWAN® wireless network. The smart sensors within detect external tampering and immediately alert the Jooby RDC Dashboard about it.

You don’t need to replace your meters in order to simplify and optimize data collection. Simply install these radio modules onto the existing consumer gas meters. Whether the device is to be used by an utility company, developer, housing cooperative, management company, or industrial enterprise, you can fully automate the metering collection process and receive accurate and actionable data.

HOW IT WORKS

The radio module is installed on the meter enclosure, fixed with standard fasteners, and activated with the Jooby mobile app—that is all there is to it. The entire process takes only a few minutes, with no meter dismantling required.

The module’s pulse counter gathers data from the meter—its magnetic field sensor registers meter dial. In one full turn of the dial, the sensor registers the magnetic field response, generates a pulse, and sends it to the data transmission subsystem.

 

The readings are delivered to the server over a LoRaWAN® network.

The data is also kept in the module’s built-in non-volatile memory over the following periods for redundancy:

  • 2 months for hourly consumption;
  • 1 year for daily consumption.

The information can be submitted to the server either hourly or daily, depending on the customer’s preferences.

 

The module is powered by a high-capacity battery which ensures 5 to 15 years of continuous operation.
