LoRaWAN radio module with sensors for Metrix gas meter
This radio module with external antenna is designed for automated collection of Metrix gas meter readings.
You do not need to remove the gas meter to install the device and it only takes a few minutes to attach and activate the radio module. The device is ready to use as soon as it is activated.
The radio module’s sensor takes the meter readings at a defined frequency and transmits them to the server over a LoRaWAN wireless network.
The device also records events such as magnetic tampering or removal of the radio module and notifies the supplier. Thus, the radio module allows you to discover issues in a timely manner and prevent theft.
- Remote data collection from all metering points
- Data transmission frequency customized
- Average lifetime 10 years (1 data transfer per day)*
- Message alert tampering
- Installation up to 5 minutes
The radio module is attached to the meter using a standard fixture, then activated by means of the mobile app. The process takes less than 5 minutes and does not require the removal of the meter.
A magnetic field sensor is used to collect readings. It records the revolutions of the meter dial. Each revolution generates an impulse sent to the data transmission module.
The utility provider receives consumption data over a LoRaWAN wireless network. All data is accessible on a real time basis. The module can transmit the readings from once an hour to once a day.
To ensure reliable utility accounting, consumption data is stored in the device’s internal non-volatile memory. The storage period is 2 months for hourly data transfer and 1 year for daily data transfer.
The device is powered by a built-in high-capacity battery that ensures 5 to 15 years of continuous operation.
