Jooby Sensor Essential

Radar motion detector for luminaires

One or two 24 GHz radars

Data transmitted

LoRa, Wi-Fi (optional)

Power supply

24 V DC (or optional 220 V power adapter)

Product information

General information Wireless connectivity

Jooby Sensor Essential is designed to detect moving objects near the luminaire to adjust light intensity.

The device uses low-power 24 GHz radar sensors for motion detection.

General information

  • Detects any road users, e.g., pedestrians, bicycle riders, and vehicles
  • Generates control signals for appropriately configured connected luminaires to adjust their brightness
  • Designed to be installed 4–6 m high
  • Pedestrian and vehicle detection—up to 15 m and 30 m respectively
  • Can house up to two radar sensors to achieve the desired detection zone shape
  • Uses a DC power supply and can be connected to a green energy generation system without additional transducers.
  • Uses LoRaWAN® technology for centralized configuration and device monitoring
  • Can be equipped with an optional Wi-Fi interface for quick on-site configuration

ShortLink technology

The device supports ShortLink technology to connect luminaires to one another. ShortLink enables dynamic lighting—when a motion sensor is triggered on one luminaire, the brightness on the nearby ones is raised, too. The system thus creates a ‘light wave’ in front of the moving pedestrian or car. ShortLink technology reduces the devices’ response delay to 0.01 s.
