The radio module for Samgaz gas meter automates the collection of meter readings and relays the data to the server over a LoRaWAN® wireless network.
Furthermore, it features tampering prevention functionality, i.e., in case of attempted removal or magnetic tampering, the device alerts the Jooby RDC Dashboard.
Turning a regular meter into a smart one is as easy as installing a radio module. Modernizing the meters takes mere minutes. Once installed, the radio module is activated via the Jooby mobile app, and that’s all there is to it.
Radio modules for meter reading collection enable utility companies, developers, housing cooperatives, and industrial enterprises to access accurate and actionable utility consumption data when they need it.
The module is installed on the body of the meter, fixed with standard fasteners, and activated with the Jooby mobile app. The entire process takes only a few minutes, with no dismantling of the meter required.
The module’s pulse counter gathers data from the meter via a magnetic field sensor that registers the meter’s dial rotation. In one full turn of the dial, the sensor registers the magnetic field response, generates a pulse, and sends it to the data transmission subsystem.
The readings are delivered to the server over a LoRaWAN® network.
The data is also kept in the module’s built-in non-volatile memory over the following periods for redundancy:
The information can be submitted to the server either hourly or daily, depending on the customer’s preferences.
The module is powered by a high-capacity battery which ensures 5 to 15 years of continuous operation.
